Surinam Frog

SH felt very proud when he completed his photostory on the Suranim Frog, a creature from the Rain Forest. SH's Reading Group had to choose a Rainforest creature, find information on their creature and then present their information using an ICTtool....SH chose to do his on a Photostory.

Logos and Symbols...what a lot Room 4 know!

Water Care Badges

Today Room 12 came and shared the Water Care badges they had made. Each badge had a message on it. They got to share lots of things that they knew about water with us. Did you know that only 1% of the earth's water can be used safely!

EK also did videoing. She got some great close ups. They look like they are having sooooo much fun!

EK had a turn videoing also. She videoed some great Jump Jammers!!

KND did some videoing also. She used a tripod when videoing. In Room 4 we decided that using a tripod makes the video not so shaky. Pod 2 are Jump Jamming to "Who Let The Dogs Out"

We love doing Jump Jam each morning. This was CH's first attempt at taking a video. She took a photo of Pod 2 doing "Witch Doctor"

Shaun The Sheep

In Room 4 we played the Great New Zealand Quiz and found out that there are more sheep than people! We also watched this video clip about Shaun the Sheep. We thought it was very funny! We think you might too.

Goodnight Kiwi

In Room 4 we love kiwis and the Goodnight Kiwi is part of KIWIana. The Goodnight Kiwi came on television at the end of the night when it was time to turn the telly off and go to bed!!I wonder why The Goodnight Kiwi is not shown on TV now!

Rugby ball getting kicked by BH

My rugby ball got kicked so high that it went over the goal posts and was a conversion for 2 more points to make 6.

My little, brown kiwi pecked a worm out of the ground and ate it. He felt full. I wish my animation had talking in it, next time I will do that.

Here is my tall pohutukawa tree which is growing sparkly green, leaves and lovely, red flowers on the tree.

My lovely shiny, paua shell is getting washed up on the beach and there is a cheeky fish which you can see getting closer to you.

I made an animation of a bouncing, oval rugby ball which is soaring over the post to score a try.  And win the game to get a trophy.

I made a pavlova animation.The animation was about a person making a pavlova. On top of the pavlova there were pineapple and strawberries.

We have been learning about symbols and what they mean. Here are some that Rm 4 children brought along to share. Can you recognise any?

For Mothers Day we made some "Handbag" cards. When you opened the flap there was a pop up inside and our messge to our mums was written on this!! A silver painted pasta bow was the clasp on the front of the handbag and a pipe cleaner was the handle. They looked sooo cool!!

Room 4 have a cool new Activboard in their classroom. Here we are watching a flipchart about Signs and Symbols. We think our board is amazing! Have you got an Activboard in your classroom? What things can you do on it?

Snake and Lizard Voicethread

We read the story Snake and Lizard by Joy Cowley and Gavin Bishop in Book Week with our buddy class room 11. Snake and Lizard had many adventures and we chose our favourite part of the stories to illustrate.

Book Week with our Buddy Readers

This week is book week at Shelly Park. We met with our buddies and Mrs M and Mrs P talked about everything that is going to happen this week - we are going to learn lots about NZ Authors. We did a brainstorm and we didn't know many. These are some of the books that we hope to read during Book Week..

During Term One we visited The Zoo, Cockle Bay Beach and reserve and Tahuna Torea. We have learned about many New Zealand native fauna and flora.

Kimberley and Emma's Photostory

We learned how to make photostories with Ms F and the Digikidz. We talked about things we do at the weekend then we went out and took some photos. We tried very hard to remember what to do on our own so that we can help our friends use Photostory. When we got stuck we looked at our how to help sheets. Then we worked with a partner in room 4 to help them make a Photostory. Hayley and Cooper the Room 6 Digikidz came to help us. Watch this space for some of the group's fabulous work coming soon.
